Blandford Curch

Historic Blandford Church is the “oldest structure in Petersburg with a clearly documented history.” It stands today as a memorial to Southern soldiers who died during the war. It was built from 1735 to 1737 on the highest point in Petersburg, Well’s Hill.

Historic Farmers Bank

The Farmers Bank of Petersburg is one of the oldest bank buildings in the United States, and perhaps the oldest in Virginia. The Farmers Bank of Virginia was chartered in 1812, and in 1817 it built its Petersburg Branch.

Centre Hill Mansion

Between 1818 and 1823 Robert Bolling IV constructed Centre Hill, Petersburg’s “most stately home.” He served as a Captain in a Dinwiddie County militia cavalry unit when the British entered the city on April 25, 1781
